Road to Roo: Day 10-11

We have finally arrived upon the last two days of our Bonnaroo road trip! These were some fun-packed couple of days, too! While we have driven the route that we took home a few times before, we still had some activities along the way that we wanted to do. The first activity that we wanted to do was visit the Mammoth Caves. Andy had never been to any caves before and really wanted to go. I had been to the Diamond Caves on a road trip that my family had taken previously and they were really cool. So we got packed up pretty early that Monday, which we had done most of the packing the night before, luckily. On our way to the Mammoth Caves, we had to stop at Dino World because Andy lost his t-shirt from when we went there 2 years ago and wanted to replace it. Luckily, they still had the shirt! YAY!!! So that was a super quick trip and then we were on our way to the caves again. When we got there we didn’t have to wait very long for a tour, so that was pretty lucky too! Our tour guide was very informative and knew a whole lot of history about the place. He told us all about his family that had lived in the area for the past several generations. It was really interesting to hear the connection that he had with the place. The beginning of the caves started with a long decent down into the caverns. This made me a little worried for the trip back out of the caves, but luckily there were just a bunch of gradual ramps and such so it turned out to be pretty easy. It’s so nice when things just work out like that. The caves themselves were gorgeous. They were cool and moist with some very interesting designs created by nature. It made me really grateful that I was able to experience beauty like this. When the tour was over, we looked around the gift shop and then headed on our way once again.

Our next stop was Indianapolis. We were once again staying at the Indy Hostel because we have had such a wonderful time there in the past. Once we got all settled in our room, we headed off to the movie theater. We HAD to see Jurassic World!!! It came out while we were at the festival, so we were already behind in seeing it by a while weekend and that was not okay! We found this awesome IMAX theater to see Jurassic World in IMAX because that would be epic! However, I really suck at getting tickets apparently because I accidentally just got them for the Ultrascreen (which was still super amazing, by the way!) instead of the IMAX. I didn’t know that the IMAX was only in 3D. So we thoroughly enjoyed the movie on the just giant screen instead of the super amazing fantastic humungous screen. Although, once our movie was over we totally snuck into the last half hour of the 3D IMAX showing and saw the epic battle between the T-Rex and the test tube dinosaur in all its glory. So in the end it all worked out. Then we went back to the Indy Hostel and had ourselves some lovely dinosaur dreams. In the morning, we went and ate breakfast at this amazing bagel place that we stumbled upon. There were dozens of different bagel sandwiches on the menu and so many different kinds of bagels period. It was magnificent. Then we drove back to Wisconsin and were so happy to be done driving.

THE END.
